Check in time is between 3-7 pm through the daylight saving months or before 6 pm through the remainder of the year. We do not recommend arriving in darkness. Check out time from the hut is 10 am
If you are struggling to meet these time frames please get in touch prior to your arrival or departure. If you are running ahead of time then please check that with us first
No, there will be one in your door at the hut – whether you use it is over to you
We ask that the Pod site is left as you found it, this does not mean you need to clean, but it does include leaving the dishes done, drying or even better put away, ensuring furniture that has been moved is restored to its original position and the hut is left generally neat and tidy and ready for servicing. Please let us know about any breakages, spillages or stains
Spark reception is great – Vodafone is adequate and Two Degrees is poor. There is good WiFi available in the building. There is no television available
The hut is superbly insulated so you won’t need much heating but there is a panel heater and a little wood stove. Air conditioning – sorry, no, but you can open a window on one end and a door at the other. It works a treat
We provide excellent spring water direct from the tap which we also triple filter and UV treat – Bring your own if you wish but there is no need for large quantities of bottled water
As is common on most farmland, flies, moths and sandflies are frequent visitors in the warmer months. We have provided insect screens in the living room, bedroom area. Bringing an insect repellant would be a sensible precaution.
Sometimes possums wander around the hut site or deck at night and be quite noisy. Please don’t leave food outside to attract them or any other animals.

Sorry but no, on both counts. There is one queen bed only for one or two guests. Not even another option for snorers!
Snowfalls are a reality in the high country and high winds and floods do occur from time to time. If any of these are predicted, we will get in touch with you and discuss options. That might mean that we accompany you or drive you to the hut in one of our vehicles, and back down if required
Some people will relish the experience of snow falls and we would only discourage you if significant falls are expected. We are highly experienced and have suitable vehicles and machinery to cope with unexpected falls.
