Your accommodation is self-catering. Just bring your favourite food, and cook meals using the gas hobs and BBQ. The kitchen is stocked with a range of essentials including salt and pepper, coffee capsules, coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, vinegars and a small selection of basics for back-up, including pasta, cereal, noodles, long-life milk, and some basic canned goods.
You will find all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans that you’ll need but don’t pack your breakfast. That’s on us! Start your day on the deck with espresso coffee, seasonal fruits, 100% squeezed orange juice, yoghurt and homemade compote. The country air sharpened your appetite? Finish with fresh farm eggs, streaky bacon, tomatoes and home baked bread.

Looking for something more
Mount Somers Store is a typical country store, friendly service, local advice and gossip and a reasonable range of basic items (and a coffee machine).
It also has credit card operated petrol and diesel fuel pumps available 24 hours. Supermarkets are available in Ashburton and Methven about 30-40 mins away.
Please note if you are flying in to Christchurch and renting a car, we recommend buying groceries at one of the excellent supermarkets near the airport. More detailed info will be provided with your booking confirmation email.
EATING LOCALLY
If you do want to venture out, we can recommend a number of options. Staveley Store provides attractive cabinet food and good coffee by day. Stronechrubie, in Mt Somers offers pleasant bistro food four days a week while Panthers Rock Tavern in Mayfield provides good pub food. All three options are within 10-15 minutes.
For a basic range of groceries and food, visit the Mt Somers Store – good coffee, sandwiches and pies.
Methven is 35 mins away and offers a lot of options. Terrace Downs, 45 mins away, provides excellent dining with great views.
